Hey!
I’m Juli Louise, and I’m an illustrator, surface pattern designer and also a molecular biologist. While I’m originally from Norway, I now live in the northern part of Germany.
For my drawings and paintings, I prefer using pencil, ink and watercolours on paper. However, I also enjoy working with a combination of traditional and digital techniques.
My inspiration is often rooted in nature. I’m especially fascinated by the interplay between colours, light and textures that creates patterns and organic shapes. On a different level, however, I’m also inspired by the question of what gives us a sense of familiarity and belonging, and the way a living being matters in the world.
For me, there’s a special value in self-created and handmade pieces of work. With the love and dedication that I put into my illustrations and designs, I wish to create a connection that makes you, as a human, feel appreciated.
